Office Information
Location
Our office is located on East Arlington Boulevard,
between Red Banks Rd and Fire Tower Rd. It's
less than 1/4 mile south of Red Banks Rd, on
the east side of Arlington Blvd. Our address
is:
Eastern Pediatrics, P.A.
913 East Arlington Boulevard
Greenville, NC 27858
Telephone (252) 561-7777
Hours
Our office is open Monday through Friday 8:30 -
5:00 for regularly scheduled appointments. Same
day appointments are available; however, call
as early as you can so we can give you an appointment
time - this will hopefully limit the amount of
time you have to wait in the office. Walk-in
patients will be worked into the schedule; however,
the wait may be longer.
Eastern Pediatrics does participate in the Pediatric
After Hours Clinic at the Brody School of Medicine.
You should call our office or speak to the provider
on call before going to the After Hours Clinic.
The After Hours Clinic is open from 6:00 - 10:00
every night of the year for children up to age
18 who need immediate medical attention for non-life-threatening
emergencies.
For life-threatening emergencies call 911, or go
directly to the emergency room at Pitt County Emergency
Hospital.
Waiting Room
We request, when possible, that you limit the number
of children, friends, and relatives accompanying
your child to the office. We understand, of course,
that on occasion babysitting or transportation
problems may leave you no choice. Eastern Pediatrics
makes an effort to limit the transmission of illness
by providing separate waiting rooms for well children
and children with acute illness. We do not provide
toys in the office due to the difficulty of keeping
them clean throughout the day and toys in the office
transmit many of the illnesses that we try to protect
your child from. We suggest that parents bring
a small toy or book to entertain their child during
an appointment.
Phone Calls & Advice
We have taken time to provide valuable links on
this website that may answer many of your concerns
and encourage you to explore the links. We have
also provided a link for refill requests for
your convenience. Our skilled clinical staff
is available from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday
through Friday. When calling the office please
be prepared to give us the following information:
your child's name (first and last), your child's
date of birth, symptoms, temperature, length
of illness, and any treatments you have given
your child. If the problem requires the doctor's
attention, the doctor will return your call at
the earliest opportunity. For non-emergency advice
or information, call mid-morning to mid-afternoon
when our phone lines are less busy. Some problems
cannot be evaluated over the telephone and you
will be instructed to schedule an appointment.
Additionally, if you remain concerned after receiving
advice from our clinical staff, call and arrange
for a physician to see your child.
Telephone calls after hours are for urgent problems
only. Non-urgent matters such as refill requests
and scheduling appointments should wait until office
hours. For an urgent problem, one of our doctors
can be reached by calling our main number 561-7777.
We strive to provide personalized care and develop
a personalized relationship with our families;
therefore, our doctors take call directly without
the use of an answering service. Please keep in
mind our doctors have busy family lives like yourself.
If the doctor does not answer the phone leave a
message, if your call is not returned in 20 minutes
please call back. Currently we do not charge for
such calls although this is becoming the norm for
pediatric offices.
